Delete your account and data
App: WildVisor

This page explains how to request deletion of your WildVisor account and what happens to your data. You can do it yourself from the app — no permission needed, no waiting for a reply.
No account?
WildVisor can be used without signing up. If you never created an account there is nothing to delete: guest-session data lives on your phone and goes away when you uninstall the app.
From the app (fastest)
- Open WildVisor and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. The request is recorded immediately.
By email
If you can no longer sign in, write to whitehatmgmtllc@gmail.com from the same address you registered with, with the subject "Delete WildVisor account". We need that address because it is the only way to confirm the account is yours and not someone else's.
We reply within 30 days at most.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your display name, email address and profile picture.
- Your sightings and the photos you uploaded with them.
- Your comments, votes and community reputation.
- Your preferences and your device's alert history.
What is kept, and why
- Anonymised observation data. A sighting that had already been verified and published may be kept detached from your identity — no name, no email, no identifier — as citizen-science data. At that point it is no longer personal data.
- Technical and security logs for the minimum time required, and billing records if you ever subscribed, as accounting law requires.
Timing
Deletion or anonymisation is completed within 30 days, in line with the EU GDPR and California's CCPA, as the app itself states on confirmation. Backups rotate within that same window.
Your subscription is cancelled separately
If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it: billing is handled by the store, not by us. Cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions before deleting your account.
